Ukraine struck targets at the 123rd Aircraft Repair Plant located in Staraya Russa, Novgorod Oblast, Russia. The operation was carried out by operators from the First Separate Unmanned Systems Center and is part of ongoing efforts to weaken the capabilities of the aggressor state’s military-industrial complex.
The facility plays a strategic role in Russia’s aviation sector, providing full-cycle maintenance and modernization for military transport aircraft and their components. It services heavy transport planes such as the Il‑76, Il‑78, and L‑410, as well as aviation engines including the D‑30KP, AI‑20, and other related systems.

The facility’s infrastructure includes its own airfield, runway, and a complex for ground and flight testing, allowing it to operate independently. The on-site runway enables the plant to receive heavy aircraft directly. According to available reports, the strike damaged a hangar servicing Il‑76 and L‑410 aircraft. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

According to the Unmanned Systems Forces on their Facebook page, the plant fulfills state defense contracts for Russian security agencies and is also involved in international agreements and import substitution programs. Striking such facilities directly affects the adversary’s ability to repair and maintain aircraft, thereby impacting their operational readiness.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that strikes on critical facilities of the occupiers’ military-industrial complex will continue until Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine ceases entirely.

Recently, Ukraine carried out a series of strikes on the Bryansk-based microelectronics enterprise “Kremniy EL.” The attack employed Storm Shadow air-launched missiles (more information on this weapon and its capabilities is available here). “Kremniy EL” is a critical part of the production chain, manufacturing discrete semiconductor components and integrated circuits that serve as the “brain” and “nervous system” of modern weapon systems.
