Units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a series of successful strikes on enemy targets in the occupied Donetsk region. As part of the Middle Strike operations, a strategic Russian facility in temporarily occupied Donetsk was hit. Long-range drones operated by the SSO targeted a base of the classified Russian unmanned systems center “Rubicon,” as well as an element of its command structure.

The operation did not end there. A coordination center supporting the activities of the adversary’s unmanned systems units in the occupied city was also struck.

In addition, the Special Operations Forces reported strikes on the temporarily occupied settlement of Vilne. Ukrainian drones targeted ammunition depots, storage sites for materiel and equipment, as well as a facility used for the accumulation and distribution of ammunition.

Such operations are conducted במסגרת the Middle Strike concept and are aimed at targeting key elements of the adversary’s military infrastructure in occupied territories. Participants of the underground resistance movement played an important role in the preparation and execution of these strikes, contributing to their effectiveness. The Special Operations Forces continue to apply asymmetric approaches to systematically degrade the opponent’s capacity to wage war against Ukraine.

Separately, the “Prymara” special unit of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) also reported successful operations. According to official statements, during the first two weeks of March, intelligence units continued efforts to disrupt and destroy Russian air defense systems on the temporarily occupied peninsula.

During one of their successful attacks, specialists from the “Primar” unit managed to strike the “Valdai” radar station. This is a state-of-the-art, high-cost Russian system designed to detect and counter small drones. Ukrainian drones also managed to disable:

  • radio jamming station
  • relay station for “Geran/Gerbera” type drones
  • “GLONASS” navigation system complex.

In addition, two Project 02510 BK-16 landing craft were reportedly struck while in motion, along with their crews.
