Fighters from the “Ghosts” special unit of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (GUR) carried out a successful raid in temporarily occupied Crimea. Ukrainian drones once again struck a number of high-value and strategically important targets belonging to Russian occupying forces.

During the operation, Ukrainian intelligence operatives successfully destroyed a launcher from an S-300V surface-to-air missile system and disabled an RSP-6M2 radar system. In a separate strike, a Redut-221 command-and-control vehicle from a Buk-M3 air defense system was hit, along with the system’s 9S36M fire-control radar. As a result, Russian forces lost several key components of their air defense network.
In addition, HUR drones struck an enemy defensive structure used to store weapons and military equipment. At the moment of the strike, two Russian servicemen were reportedly near the facility.
Special forces from the SBU’s Alpha unit also shared their results. They reported the destruction of more than 500 Russian air defense systems since the start of the full-scale invasion. According to a statement published on the SBU’s official Facebook page, the targets included key components of what Russia describes as its “most advanced air defense” systems, such as:
- Long- and medium-range surface-to-air missile systems: S-400 and S-300
- Air defense missile and gun systems: Pantsir-S1
- Surface-to-air missile systems: Buk-M2 / Buk-M3, Tor-M2, Osa, and Strela-10
- Radar stations, command posts, and detection equipment, without which an air defense network becomes effectively blind and uncoordinated.
“The work carried out has undeniable value,” the SBU statement added. “It allowed corridors to be created through the multilayered Russian air defense system, enabling strikes by Ukrainian long-range drones deep into enemy rear areas – targeting bases, depots, airfields, and other military objectives.”
Additionally, yesterday the Ukrainian General Staff reported that Air Force units conducted a successful strike on a key enemy fuel infrastructure facility using Storm Shadow cruise missiles. The attack targeted the Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant in Russia’s Rostov region. A series of powerful explosions was observed at the site, indicating that the strike successfully hit its target.

The Novoshakhtinsk plant is considered one of the key suppliers of petroleum products in southern Russia and plays a direct role in supporting the logistics of the Russian armed forces. In particular, the facility provides occupying forces with diesel fuel and aviation kerosene for military vehicles and aircraft. The plant’s total tank storage capacity exceeds 210,000 m³.
