A video circulating online appears to show the moment a Russian patrol boat of the Project 03160 Raptor patrol boat class is struck and destroyed. According to preliminary reports, the strike on the vessel took place in temporarily occupied Crimea. The attack was reportedly carried out using FP-1 drones. Footage of the operation has been shared by monitoring Telegram channels.
Ukrainian forces reportedly conducted a maritime operation involving the use of FP-1 strike drones. These systems enabled operators to engage a target at a considerable distance from the coastline.
Preliminary information suggests that the Project 03160 Raptor patrol boat was conducting patrol duties and providing support for amphibious units at the time of the strike. However, the vessel’s onboard detection systems appear not to have identified the approaching drone in time to intercept it. After a direct hit, a fire broke out on board. As the damage progressed, the boat lost buoyancy and eventually sank.
A key role in the strike was reportedly played by the FP-1 attack drone. This system is described as belonging to a newer generation of unmanned aerial vehicles, with characteristics that distinguish it within its class. Its reported operational range reaches up to 1,000 km, allowing strikes against targets deep behind enemy lines as well as at distant maritime locations. The drone is also said to be capable of carrying a warhead weighing up to 105 kg, a payload comparable to that used by heavy anti-ship missiles.

High maneuverability and a relatively low radar signature reportedly make the FP-1 difficult to detect and intercept using the standard air defense and electronic warfare systems typically installed on Russian patrol boats. Patrol boats of the Project 03160 Raptor patrol boat class are considered among the faster and more maneuverable vessels used by the coastal forces of the Russian Navy.
These boats are designed for a range of tasks, including maritime patrol, interception of small targets, search-and-rescue operations, and the transport of landing groups of up to 20 personnel. The vessel can reach speeds of up to 48 knots (approximately 90 km/h), enabled by high-power waterjet propulsion systems.

These boats are typically equipped with a remotely operated 14.5 mm weapon station and two PKP Pecheneg machine gun units. Despite their stated protection and performance characteristics, vessels of the Project 03160 Raptor patrol boat class have proven vulnerable to attacks by Ukrainian loitering munitions, a factor that has reportedly contributed to the gradual reduction of the Russian Navy’s operational presence in certain areas.
Ukrainian forces continue to target Russian military equipment and infrastructure in temporarily occupied territories. In the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, for example, Ukrainian defenders reportedly carried out strikes against two facilities used to store drones and other logistical equipment.
