Representatives of the Ukrainian Air Force have verified the destruction of an enemy Su-35 aircraft. On 8 July, Ukrainian forces operating in the eastern sector of the front reportedly succeeded in downing the Russian multirole fighter jet. Official information on the incident was subsequently released by the command of the Ukrainian Air Force. The published statement asserts that the downing of the Russian Su-35 multirole combat aircraft in eastern Ukraine on 8 July 2026 has been fully confirmed.

SU-35

This aircraft belongs to the 4++ generation and is regarded as one of the most advanced combat aircraft in the arsenal of the Russian Federation. The Su-35’s primary missions include establishing air superiority and conducting strikes against a wide range of targets on land, at sea, and in the air.

The Su-35’s technical specifications allow it to reach speeds of up to 2,500 km/h, while its maximum operational range extends to approximately 3,600 km. The aircraft is capable of carrying around eight tonnes of various weapons distributed across 12 hardpoints. In addition, the platform is equipped with an advanced radar system that enables the effective deployment of guided missiles and aerial bombs.

No additional details regarding the circumstances under which the aircraft was destroyed or the fate of its pilots have been disclosed by military officials at this time. It is worth noting that the invading forces recently received another batch of Su-35S fighter jets to reinforce their fleet.
