Ukraine carried out a strike against Russian targets at the naval base in Kronstadt near Saint Petersburg. Among the targets was the corvette Boykiy. According to available data, drones hit the vessel while it was in dry dock, at a distance of over 1,100 km from the Ukrainian border. This is evidenced by footage published by the Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi.

The operation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in coordination with the Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces, the State Border Guard Service, and the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR). The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on its official page that, according to preliminary information, “ships and infrastructure facilities in the port of Kronstadt” were hit as a result of the attack, and that “the extent of the damage is currently being clarified.”

The corvette Boykiy is a multipurpose vessel of Project 20380 in service with the Russian Baltic Fleet. It was commissioned in 2013 and is intended for coastal defense, surface warfare, anti-submarine operations, and air defense. The ship has a displacement of approximately 2,220 tons and a length of 104.5 meters. Its crew consists of about 100 personnel. The vessel’s armament includes a 100 mm A-190 naval gun, “Uran” anti-ship missiles, the “Redut” surface-to-air missile system, the “Paket-NK” anti-submarine warfare system, and a Ka-27 helicopter.

The strike was carried out against the Kronstadt naval base, located approximately 20 km from Saint Petersburg. Kronstadt is one of the two main bases of the Russian Baltic Fleet and has historically served as an important naval outpost. Available video materials do not allow for a full assessment of the extent of the damage, but the concentration of military assets in the area is significant. For example, the Kronstadt Marine Plant is a key facility for the repair and modernization of Russian Navy vessels. According to Telegraf, Kronstadt typically hosts between 20 and 25 combat ships and boats, as well as several dozen auxiliary vessels.

Denys Shtilerman, co-founder and chief designer of Fire Point, noted on his Twitter account that the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is beginning today, where Vladimir Putin typically speaks about Russia’s victories and growing strength. This year, the forum was attended by Rodney Mims Cook Jr., head of the Commission on Fine Arts under the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.

“Due to such distinguished guests and the importance of the event itself, we could not ignore it and urgently flew to St. Petersburg. But there is a nuance)) We really wanted to arrange a tour for the guests on the cruiser Moskva, but unfortunately it was not possible to bring it there – so we had to take out two other ships already at the venue. I hope all guests of SPIEF-2026 will be able to breathe freely and enjoy the views,” said Denys Shtilerman.

As part of the operation, strikes were also carried out against the infrastructure of the “St. Petersburg Oil Terminal” (SPOT) in St. Petersburg. This is one of the largest Russian terminals in the Baltic region. It has 21 storage tanks used for the handling and transshipment of petroleum products. Drones hit the tank farm area, where at least four separate large fire outbreaks were recorded.

The Michurinsky “Progress” plant, a facility producing components for precision-guided weaponry (Michurinsk, Tambov Oblast, Russian Federation), was also struck. A fire was recorded on the premises of the facility.
