Ukraine showcased its latest promising development in unmanned technology at an international forum dedicated to drone warfare, held in the Philippines. The presented concept, named Fighter Aircraft FA v1, is a model of a jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed for high speed and operational efficiency.

This week, Subic Bay in the Philippines hosted the first-ever Drone Warfare Summit, a three-day event running from October 27 to 29. The summit brought together key defense industry players, military strategists, and leading manufacturers to discuss the evolution of unmanned systems in the context of modern warfare. Organizers emphasized the growing strategic importance of drones across air, land, sea, and underwater domains in the Indo-Pacific region.

As part of the summit, the Ukrainian delegation shared its vision and operational experience gained during the development of aerial and maritime autonomous systems. Among the presented materials was a concept model of a jet-powered unmanned fighter, designated Fighter Aircraft FA v1.

A demonstration slide highlighted the key performance characteristics of the UAV, indicating a projected top speed of over 250 km/h and an operational range of up to 30 km. The concept also envisions a service ceiling of 5,000 meters and the ability to detect airborne targets at distances of up to 15 km.

The model’s exterior shows a compact twin-keel (twin-boom) configuration, typical of small remotely piloted aircraft currently under development worldwide. Although the specific manufacturer and production details were not disclosed, the presentation indicates an increased domestic interest in developing unmanned systems capable of both reconnaissance and potential combat tasks.

Ukrainian representatives stated that the FA v1 project incorporates operational experience gained during the ongoing conflict, where unmanned platforms have become a prominent element of modern operations. The summit provided a forum for Ukraine to present work on counter-electronic-warfare measures and on integrating autonomous systems into multifunctional military missions.

For their part, the Armed Forces of the Philippines used the event to emphasize the strategic importance of drones for the defense of the island nation. The Philippine Department of National Defense considers unmanned systems essential for improving situational awareness, conducting effective maritime patrols, and enabling rapid response across the dispersed territories of the archipelago.
