President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Ukraine’s readiness to support European countries in strengthening their air defense capabilities. He noted that the heightened tensions in the Middle East illustrate the difficulty of achieving comprehensive protection against missile strikes and attacks involving Shahed-type drones.
Zelenskyy emphasized that even Persian Gulf states equipped with advanced and extensive air defense systems are not always able to intercept all ballistic threats and continue to face challenges in countering Shahed drones. According to him, Ukraine’s experience in protecting its airspace is substantial and could be of practical value to European partners.

The President stated that Ukraine is prepared to share its experience and provide assistance to countries that supported Ukraine throughout the winter and during the war more broadly. According to him, European states need to ensure they possess credible defense capabilities, including the capacity to protect their airspace, territory, and maritime borders against a range of threats.
In addition, Zelenskyy reported that the Ukrainian government is closely monitoring developments in Iran. He noted that all relevant changes are being tracked by Ukrainian intelligence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with international partners. He emphasized the importance of using any opportunity for change in Iran effectively.

Earlier, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that Ukrainian experts would be engaged to support partners in the Persian Gulf in countering Iranian drones. He clarified that the United Kingdom is granting the United States permission to use its military bases for defensive operations in the Middle East, while London is not participating in offensive strikes. According to Starmer, the use of these bases will be limited to specific defensive objectives.
At the same time, U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that operations targeting Iran could continue for approximately four weeks or less. He stated that the entirety of Iran’s leadership, including 48 individuals, had been eliminated and confirmed casualties among U.S. service members, including the deaths of three soldiers. Trump did not rule out the possibility that the number of casualties could increase if operations continue.
