Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Munich to meet with the leadership and staff of the first joint Ukrainian-German drone manufacturing company, Quantum Frontline Industries. The facility is engaged in serial production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius also attended the meeting.

During the visit, Volodymyr Zelensky was shown the company’s production facilities and a demonstration of the first combat drone assembled on these lines. The UAVs are developed using Ukrainian technology, incorporate artificial intelligence systems, and have already demonstrated operational performance under field conditions.
Company representatives provided information on production capacity, development pace, and expansion plans. It is expected that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive the first 10,000 drones manufactured at this facility within the current year.

Quantum Frontline Industries is the first site in Europe to carry out serial production of Ukrainian drone systems. The project is implemented within the framework of intergovernmental cooperation between Ukraine and Germany, initiated by Build with Ukraine, and is funded by the German side through a dedicated support office.
Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged the support of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the German government, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, and the broader German public. He also highlighted the collaboration with German partners and the development of the first large-scale joint production facility in Europe.

This is only the first of such facilities, with plans to open additional similar sites in other European countries by the end of the year. “Ukraine has been working on establishing joint production lines in Europe for some time, and now this line is operational – the first in Germany. This is a tangible result. Overall, by the end of the year, we plan to open 10 joint enterprises for the production of Ukrainian drones,” Volodymyr Zelensky stated on his Twitter account.

In addition, several bilateral documents were signed during the visit. This included three memoranda on the establishment of new joint ventures, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ukrainian Defense Industry and the Swedish company SAAB.
