The trailer for the Ukrainian feature film “Wings” has been released. The project is an independent charitable production created in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is presented as the first domestic charity film focused on aviation, exploring the role of those responsible for maintaining control of the airspace.
The film is positioned as a Ukrainian charitable project in the genre of poetic cinema, combining themes of war and aviation through elements of a surreal tragicomedy.
The project has a clearly defined charitable component. All proceeds generated from promotion and distribution are allocated in full to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the procurement of aerial drones and addressing current operational needs of military units.
The film constructs an emotional and symbolic space of confrontation, where the sky serves as a boundary between fear and a sense of freedom. The creators deliberately avoid a literal depiction of aviation, opting instead for a more metaphorical and artistic language. As director Oleksandr Sterenchuk notes, focusing solely on aircraft in a film about aviation would be reductive; “Wings” emphasizes poetic and surreal elements. He also references the influence of Salvador Dalí, Sergei Parajanov, and Yurii Illienko, which is already reflected in the trailer.

The premiere of “Wings” is scheduled for summer 2026. The film is planned for wide theatrical release, with test screenings already held in the Multiplex network. Following its theatrical run, it will be made available on streaming platforms on a donation basis, including Vimeo.
Filming took place in Lutsk, which served as the main production base and brought together the team around a shared concept. Production began in 2023 and was financed independently by the participants. Additional scenes were shot in Lviv. The film is dedicated to Andrii Pilshchykov, a pilot of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade, widely regarded as a symbolic figure in Ukraine’s modern defense efforts and associated with the image of the “Ghost of Kyiv.”

The lead role is performed by Kateryna Fedorchuk. The trailer also features acting and musical contributions from Myshko Adamchak, founder of the band Koralli.
The production team includes director Oleksandr Sterenchuk; cinematographers Anton Anoshyn, Taras Kirichuk, Andrii Dmytruk, Oleksandr Sloboda, and Volodymyr Khomych; sound designer and composer Dmytro Shtanko; composers and sound engineers Serhii Minaiev and Mikael Gyulazyan; editor Nazarii Balanov; VFX specialists Maksym Shyper and Andrii Melnyk; and graphic designer Vasyl Yaremii.
