Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported a successful operation in which Russian occupying forces reportedly lost personnel as well as a high-value air defense system. As part of the operation, drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) struck an FSB headquarters located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.

As Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on his Twitter page, the drones destroyed not only the building where Russian personnel were located. The strike also reportedly eliminated a Pantsir-S1 air defense system that had been deployed to protect the headquarters from aerial attacks. He also shared footage of the operation.
“A headquarters of Russian FSB officers was hit, and a Pantsir-S1 air defense system was destroyed on our temporarily occupied territory,” the Ukrainian president wrote. “As a result of this single operation alone, Russian losses amount to around one hundred occupiers killed and wounded. Russians must feel that they need to bring this war to an end. Ukraine’s medium- and long-range sanctions will continue to work.”
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, together with the Special Operations Forces, continue targeting oil refining infrastructure in an effort to reduce Russia’s economic and logistical capacity to sustain the war against Ukraine. This time, the target was the Syzran oil refinery owned by the state-controlled company Rosneft, located in the Samara region.

A large-scale fire was reported at the facility, which is capable of processing up to 9 million tons of oil annually and is located more than 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The Syzran refinery is used not only for civilian needs. The facility also supplies fuel for Russian military aviation and army units operating in the central and southern regions of the country. In addition, petroleum products from the plant are exported via the Volga River and the Caspian Sea.
