The Unmanned Systems Forces have announced a large-scale recruitment drive, opening 15,000 positions – most of them for UAV crews and specialists from civilian professions. This is one of the largest public recruitment initiatives in the history of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, launched to rapidly strengthen a branch that actively employs robotic and unmanned platforms in combat operations.
The Unmanned Systems Forces represent a unique structure – the first military branch in the world to systematically use aerial, surface, subsurface, and ground-based unmanned and robotic systems. Their units operate along the entire front line, employing advanced technologies to achieve tactical and strategic objectives and to enhance operational effectiveness.

The recruitment campaign is open to a wide range of civilian professionals – from engineers and IT specialists to technicians and operators. Candidates are expected to have basic technical knowledge, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work as part of a team. The Unmanned Systems Forces provide comprehensive training, access to infrastructure and equipment for practical work, as well as strict safety protocols designed to minimize risks for personnel during combat missions.
The campaign is already showing results. Since its announcement, more than 3,000 applications have been submitted, and the number continues to grow. Currently, the Unmanned Systems Forces make up about 2% of Ukraine’s total Defense Forces, yet their contribution accounts for over 35% of all verified strikes recorded in the Delta situational awareness system.

The effectiveness of the Unmanned Systems Forces is notable. Over the past 150 days, units have recorded more than 100,000 enemy targets damaged or destroyed and roughly 30,000 strikes against enemy personnel. This scale of effect is equivalent to two army assault corps or about 50 full-strength battalions. The campaign’s strategic objective is to raise the Unmanned Systems Forces’ share to 5% of the overall Defense Forces, deploy a continuous drone line along the entire front operating at tactical, operational and strategic levels, and increase the USF’s proportionate contribution to 50% of all strikes against enemy targets and personnel.

“The system works – the numbers prove it. And anything that works needs to be scaled. It’s time to stop running from the army – it’s time to fly. Our drones are waiting for pilots, not the other way around. You will serve where you choose and in the role you choose,” said Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
The Unmanned Systems Forces provide training, operational infrastructure, and the necessary equipment for both preparation and combat missions. A full list of available positions is published on the official USF website. Candidates can join by completing an online application form or by calling the recruitment hotline at 0 800 207 332.
