Ukraine has received its first mobile aviation simulators used for training pilots of F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. These systems are expected to significantly improve the efficiency of pilot training and strengthen the country’s air defense capabilities. “F-16 Fighting Falcon jets are already protecting Ukrainian airspace,” said Mykhailo Fedorov. “To improve the effectiveness of intercepting aerial targets, we need to continuously enhance pilot training and reduce the time between instruction and operational deployment.”

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine noted that the introduction of mobile simulators is part of a broader transition to modern training approaches aligned with NATO standards.

Previously, Ukraine had already received simulators for pilot training. These systems allow crews to practice complex combat scenarios, improve reaction speed, decision-making, and situational awareness. The technology makes it possible to model specific mission profiles in detail before conducting them on a real F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine emphasizes that the mobile simulators were developed with Ukrainian requirements and technical specifications in mind, including the geographic characteristics of the operational environment. A key advantage of these systems is their mobility, allowing the equipment to be relocated quickly when needed. This is critical for pilot safety and for preserving equipment under persistent threat conditions.

“More training leads to faster preparation, reduced aircraft wear, and significantly higher effectiveness in the air,” said the head of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. “Air defense remains our top priority. We continue to systematically strengthen aviation capabilities and respond asymmetrically through the use of technology.”

“I am grateful to the partners of the air force capabilities coalition, as well as to the governments of Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Austria, and to the development companies for supporting these initiatives,” he added.
