The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed on its official Facebook page the results of one of the recent strikes on Russian military airbases. These attacks are aimed at reducing Russia’s capability to carry out strikes against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, personnel of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a strike on the Shagol airbase in Russia’s Chelyabinsk region on April 25. As a result of the attack, several Su-57 fighter aircraft, as well as a Su-34 fighter-bomber, were hit.

According to a statement published on the unit’s Facebook page, the strike on the Tuapse refinery was carried out by operators of the 1st Separate Center in coordination with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), and other components of the Defense Forces. Following previous attacks, large-scale fires were recorded at the facility, with firefighting efforts lasting several days. As a result of those strikes, 24 storage tanks were destroyed and four more were damaged. Additional infrastructure damage was also reported, effectively leading to a shutdown of the refinery’s operations.
As a result of the April 28 strike, another fire broke out in the tank farm area of the facility. This is supported by satellite imagery. The full extent of the damage from the latest attack is still being уточнюється.
