Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems has released its first video of the Shark UAV produced at its new facility in the United Kingdom. The footage was shared by James Cartlidge, the UK’s shadow defense minister and former official responsible for defense procurement. During his visit to the facility, he emphasized that British investment in Ukrainian drone production in Suffolk forms part of a broader industrial partnership between the two countries.

Ukrspecsystems drones have already undergone operational testing under particularly challenging conditions, attracting attention from foreign defense agencies. At the same time, the company notes that despite Western interest, Ukrainian orders remain its top priority.

The company emphasizes that its joint projects with the United Kingdom are aimed at strengthening the defense capabilities of both sides, advancing relevant technologies, and developing the infrastructure needed for accelerated production of systems required on today’s battlefield. Ukrspecsystems states that it is awaiting the completion of legal procedures and is prepared to scale up UAV manufacturing in the United Kingdom.

In June, a joint Ukrainian‑British drone production program funded by London was announced. Under this agreement, all UAVs will be supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine throughout the duration of the conflict. The program is planned to run for at least three years.

In September, details emerged about Ukrspecsystems’ upcoming facility in the United Kingdom. The project is valued at £200 million ($262 million, ₴11.09 billion) and will cover an area of 11,000 square meters, providing up to 500 jobs. Staffing is expected to be completed by the end of the year, with serial drone production scheduled to begin early next year.
