In August, operators from the 412th Nemesis Regiment of the Ukrainian Drone Forces struck three Russian air defense positions. The operation disabled two Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile systems, one Buk-M3 launcher, and a radar unit from a Buk-M2 system, which soldiers nicknamed the “Chupa Chups,” according to the official Facebook page of the 412th Nemesis Regiment.

Preliminary estimates place the total value of the destroyed defense systems at around \$80–90 million. The Ukrainian forces noted that the enemy has been adjusting tactics to avoid vulnerable areas and attempting to hide its most valuable equipment. However, these measures have proven largely ineffective, as drones continue to locate and neutralize targets critical to Russia’s defensive capabilities.

To maintain tactical advantage and avoid revealing technological methods, the military has not yet released footage of the strikes. Representatives of the unit emphasized that detailed materials will be made available later, once it is safe to do so without compromising ongoing operations.

The 412th Nemesis Regiment continues to inflict significant, multi-million-dollar losses on the enemy by systematically identifying and destroying its reinforcement and defense assets. These actions undermine the opponent’s air defense capabilities, directly disrupting offensive plans and weakening overall combat effectiveness.

Meanwhile, special forces from Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) continue to target Russian air defenses. They recently located and struck a 9K317M Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system positioned near the town of Oleksandrivka in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region. The system is estimated to be worth between $40 and $50 million.

Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence carried out precise strikes on two high-value Russian air defense assets in temporarily occupied Crimea. The targets included the 48Ya6-K1 “Podlyot” radar and the RLM-M radar, both part of the 55Zh6M “Nebo-M” system.
