Ukraine’s defense industry continues to strengthen its ability to counter hostile drones. MaXon, a participant in the Brave1 defense innovation cluster, is developing an air-to-air style air defense system. The project includes a proprietary targeting system and high-speed interceptors designed to cover large areas.
According to Mykhailo Fedorov, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, the system is already undergoing field tests in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

Support from the Brave1 initiative allowed MaXon to complete its first investment round, which included participation from Freedom Fund and Defender Ventures. The company is now raising funds in the next round to accelerate research and development and scale up production.
A notable aspect of the project is its integration of solutions from other Brave1 participants. This reflects the cluster’s ecosystem approach, where companies from different fields combine their technologies to create more comprehensive systems. Such collaboration enables the development of advanced tools that can have a tangible impact on the course of the war.

Recently, Brave1 announced another development – a drone with AI support designed to strike enemy targets at distances of more than 50 km. The project was a joint effort between engineers of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade and the company Omnitech, with Brave1 handling system codification to enable military adoption. The drone, named Pavuk Dophina, is reported to surpass many foreign counterparts in key specifications. Its AI algorithms allow it to autonomously anchor on terrain, maintaining a stable and secure communication link even under challenging conditions.
