Recently, specialists from the Department of Active Operations of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate conducted a successful strike against the last operational Russian rail ferry in the Kerch Strait. Ukrainian drones targeted the ferry Slavyanin for the second time, resulting in its complete incapacitation.
According to GUR representatives, this ferry played a critical role in sustaining Russian forces on temporarily occupied Crimea, serving as a key route for fuel, weapons, military equipment, and ammunition.

This strike follows a previous operation conducted in mid-March, when GUR special forces disabled another Russian rail ferry, Avangard. That ferry was a key component of the so-called Kerch ferry crossing and played an important role in the aggressor’s maritime military logistics. During that operation, drones damaged both Avangard and the Slavyanin ferry.
At the same time, GUR reported a coordinated operation involving special reconnaissance units and other branches of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which targeted infrastructure at the Kavkaz port in Russia’s Krasnodar region. Intelligence officials emphasize that operations aimed at weakening Russian logistical capabilities are being carried out on a systematic basis.

As a reminder, we recently reported on an operation conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in coordination with operators from the 1st Separate Unmanned Systems Center. Ukrainian drones targeted the Sheskharis terminal and struck the frigate Admiral Makarov, a Burevestnik-class vessel of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The frigate is designed for anti-submarine warfare, engaging surface targets, and delivering strikes against land-based objectives.
