Russia has reportedly lost another aircraft following an aviation accident in Krasnodar Region. According to reports circulating online, the aircraft involved was an L-39 jet trainer.
The incident was first reported by the Russian military blogger Fighterbomber on his Telegram channel. Few details have been released so far, although he claimed that the crew had been performing low-altitude aerobatic maneuvers at the time of the crash. The condition of the pilot or pilots aboard the L-39 remains unknown.
The Aero L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer and light combat aircraft developed and manufactured by the Czech aerospace company Aero Vodochody. It is an all-metal, low-wing monoplane designed as a cost-effective advanced trainer while retaining the capability to perform light ground-attack missions.
The crash comes only days after reports of another Russian military aviation accident. On July 23, a Russian military aircraft – reportedly a fifth-generation Su-57 fighter – crashed near Zvenigorod in Russia’s Moscow Region. Russian authorities have not officially confirmed the aircraft type, stating only that the crash was caused by a technical malfunction.
