On September 29, units of Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery, supported by other Defense Forces units, carried out a missile strike on JSC “Karachev Electrodetal Plant,” located in the city of Karachev in Russia’s Bryansk region. Reports indicate that four missiles were launched at the facility, with a flight range exceeding 240 km.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff’s Facebook page, the Karachev Electrodetal Plant specializes in manufacturing various electrical connectors and joints for both military and civilian applications, ranging from low- and high-frequency to combined solutions. Its products are used in the aerospace industry, electronics, instrumentation, and other sectors. Among the plant’s output are PCB connectors, components for military equipment and aircraft, antennas, base station equipment, and parts for measuring instruments.

Following the strike, explosions and a fire were reported at the facility. The extent of the damage and the precise consequences are still being assessed.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine wrote on its Facebook page that “the Defense Forces continue to take all measures to undermine the military‑economic potential of the Russian occupiers and to force Russia to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine. More to come!”

Vice‑Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, specified that the Karachev plant was struck with R‑360 Neptune cruise missiles. In a Facebook post he wrote: “At night our ‘Neptune’ accurately struck the Karachev Elektrodetal plant. Minus another link in the enemy’s supply chain. Everything that works to wage war against Ukraine will be destroyed!”

Reports indicate that Ukrainian forces shot down a Russian Mi‑8 helicopter. The strike was carried out with a small FPV drone – a device that costs roughly $500 – against an aircraft valued at an estimated $10 million.
