In a bid to renew its entire fleet of aircraft, Croatia Airlines has now taken delivery of the A220-300 aircraft. This is the first A220-300 aircraft that the airline is taking into its fleet, and we expect to see 12 more entries. Originally, the airline placed an order for 13 A220-300 aircraft and just 2 A220-100 entries.

All these orders were to celebrate Croatia Airlines’ 35th anniversary which will be celebrated this year. Truthfully, one of the best ways to celebrate 35 years in the air transportation industry is to revamp the entire aircraft line-up. This is exactly what the Croatian airline plans to do and now the first A220-300 aircraft is in their possession, and they await other deliveries as well.

Croatia Airlines

Both the A220-300 and A220-100 entries that Croatia Airlines is awaiting deliveries of can accommodate over 100 passengers at a time. Among these two entries, the A220-300 has more carrying capacity as it can hold between 130–160 passengers. The A220-100 is the smaller entry, as it can hold about 108–133 passengers at a time.

As for the features of these entries into the Croatia Airlines line-up, they can fly, 3600 nautical miles non-stop. They are also more eco-friendly entries as they come with a 50% reduction in noise pollution. Still in line with being eco-friendly, the A220 entries come with a 40% reduction in NOx emissions, hence meeting the standards of the global aviation industry.

There are a lot of improvements that the A220 entries bring to the industry. The A220 Airbus entry replaced the C series in 2018 and since then has been added to various aviation fleets worldwide. Now Croatia Airlines welcomes their first A220 delivery to revamp their fleet of aircraft hence ensuring better flight.
