Ukrainian forces report a new modification to Shahed-type attack drones made by Russian forces. In recent weeks, sightings across various regions have shown drones carrying two canisters under their wings, each loaded with PTM-3 anti-tank mines. The information was shared on Facebook by communications and electronic warfare specialist Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov.
According to him, these mines are equipped with magnetic detonators and can trigger in response to nearby vehicles.
“So far, the enemy’s intention is unclear – what exactly they want to mine and why,” Flash notes. “It could be acts of terrorism on public roads, or possibly an attempt to target our agricultural sector.”

He urges everyone to stay alert for these devices and advises that if such mines are found, it’s best to avoid approaching them closely in vehicles.
Recently, we reported that Russia is testing a new generation of Shahed drones equipped with artificial intelligence and thermal imaging systems. These drones can independently analyze situations, identify targets without receiving coordinates, and evade most air defense systems. According to Ukrainian Major General Vladyslav Klochkov, the new drone uses an NVIDIA Jetson Orin module, making the Shahed an autonomous combat platform capable of seeing, analyzing, making decisions, and striking without direct operator control.
“This is not just an autonomous bomb – it’s a next-generation hunter,” he said. There is additional concern over the possibility that the MS001 drone can operate as part of coordinated swarms, maintaining its effectiveness despite efforts by Ukrainian electronic warfare systems or other countermeasures.
