Ukrainian Forces Shot Down Russian Su-25 Attack Aircraft in Donetsk region

Today, Ukrainian forces shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft on the Pokrovsk direction. The fighter jet, along with another Su-25, was attempting to target the positions of Defense Forces units.

It is reported that the aircraft was downed by air defense troops from the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Major Mark Bezruchko. They published confirmation along with video footage on their Facebook page.

“Continuing the demilitarization of Russian air force. Today, in the Pokrovsk Triangle area (anomalous zone for enemy aircraft), another Russian Su-25 lost contact,” the military statement reads. “Two enemy pilots had the audacity to fly almost directly over our positions. For their audacity, one of them was immediately punished. This is the result of another flawless hunt by the mysterious air defense ghosts of Donbas, part of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade! Eternal downfall to the occupiers’ scum!”

It’s worth noting that this is not the first Su-25 attack aircraft that this brigade has destroyed in July on the same front. Russian occupiers had already lost such a combat aircraft on July 7.

Additionally, another report of an attack aircraft being destroyed was posted on the brigade’s page on July 19, along with a video.

There’s the Bermuda Triangle, and then there’s the Pokrovsk Triangle. Aircraft regularly disappear from radars here as well. But it’s only Russian ones, and not under mysterious circumstances, as our troops pointed out in a post. Today, our guys brought down another Su-25. Once again, it’s the work of the renowned gunners of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

They noted that Russian pilots, with manic and foolish determination, continue their suicidal sorties into the 110th Brigade’s area of responsibility. Consequently, the troops will keep shooting down the occupiers’ aircraft.

The Su-25 is a single-seat, armored subsonic attack aircraft designed to provide close air support in combat zones. It can operate both day and night under visual conditions and is capable of striking targets with specified coordinates in good flying weather. The Su-25 can engage not only ground targets but also surface targets and low-flying, slow-moving aerial threats.
