Ukrspecsystems has officially announced an important addition to its Shark drone family: the new reconnaissance UAV complex Shark-M. The company representatives emphasized that specialists are continuously improving all models in the Shark family (Shark, Mini Shark, PD-2) based on feedback from military personnel using these drones in combat zones. “The enemy evolves and adapts in real time,” the manufacturer explains. “Whenever combat conditions undergo significant changes, we provide preemptively thought-out solutions.”

Shark-M

The Shark-M is the next step in the evolution of one of the most effective UAV complexes on the battlefield. This electric system is designed for autonomous reconnaissance and surveillance, with an operational range of up to 180 km. It can operate both day and night, is more resistant to electronic warfare (EW) countermeasures, and is easier to control.

The Shark-M has already proven its effectiveness across a wide range of combat applications even before its details were publicly revealed. However, the company is now able to share more specifics:

  • The Shark-M provides an enhanced level of comfort for its crew. It maintains communication at distances up to 180 km, allowing crews to operate beyond the reach of enemy tactical-level targeting systems. The maximum automation of processes simplifies the operators’ tasks. For instance, this includes generating detailed reports with all detected objects before the aircraft lands, as well as automated pre-flight checks.
  • The Shark-M presents an increased level of danger for the enemy. As the battlefield evolves, the enemy hides valuable electronic warfare (EW) and radar systems, as well as air defense, deeper behind the front lines. The capacity of the new batteries is significantly larger compared to its predecessors, allowing the drone to detect and track high-priority targets for up to 7 hours continuously. The manufacturer has also improved the protection against enemy EW systems – the drone is now capable of resisting signal jamming and spoofing.
  • For the military, the Shark-M is a versatile reconnaissance tool. Its advanced camera systems, reliable communication range, and extended flight time make it an invaluable asset for intelligence gathering across various military branches.

The drone features upgraded gyro-stabilized optoelectronic systems, a new interface, improved remote piloting station, enhanced encryption, and better jamming protection, among other updates. More information about the Shark-M can be found through this link.

“Shark-M is one of the few electric drones in our defenders’ arsenal that consistently demonstrates exceptional reconnaissance results,” said Dmitro Khasapov, CEO of Ukrspecsystems. “This marks both a milestone and a dedication to the 10th anniversary of Ukrspecsystems’ operations. We look at Shark-M with modest pride, as its time has now come, and within the depths of our development, solutions for further advancements in combat conditions are already taking shape.”
